A meeting was held in the municipality of Salgar between the Municipal Coffee Growers Committee and the Departmental Committee, in which priority actions were defined to strengthen local coffee growing and improve the quality of life of coffee-growing families. Among the highlighted topics are the construction of the aqueduct in the Montebello area, the improvement of roads with drainage works and the construction of pedestrian bridges, initiatives that seek to facilitate mobility and access to basic services in rural areas.
In addition, they agreed to strengthen food security programs, as well as promote the renovation and fertilization of coffee plantations, key strategies to ensure sustainable production and increase coffee growers’ incomes. This meeting reaffirms the commitment of coffee organizations to the well-being of rural communities and the development of the sector in southwestern Antioquia.
